This is a list of the prefectures of Greece, in order of descending population density according to the 2001 census "real" population figures and land areas. (The census also enumerated "permanent" population figures, which are slightly different from the "real" ones.) Although Mount Athos is not a prefecture, it is included here merely to complete the table for Greece, which has an overall density of 83.09 persons/km².
